This hotel is near little Italy, the Brooklyn bridge, and other areas that are fun to explore. The beds are very comfortable and the room was very clean. The people who work here are always very welcoming and help with any questions you have. The elevator only can be used via card key to use which I like for security reasons. We were surprised to read quite a few very negative reviews. Of course you always get what you pay for - and this at our time of staying was one of the cheapest hotels with en-suite in Manhattan. The rooms are a little tired but everything was clean, comfortable and great shower. We had very good views from the 12th floor of the Empire State Building. The only thing was with the amazing views we wished the windows were a bit cleaner!

We liked the location, being about 300 metres from a subway station and near Mulberry Street. The room is comfortable enough, if a little outdated. The bed we had was comfortable. We quite liked the views towards the Empire State Building that we had from our 11th floor room. The gym while small, is functional. The in-house Shinka Ramen Bar serves excellent food. My main complaints are about the dim lighting in the room - very poor, the WiFi was patchy - it was a lottery as to whether it would work properly and the idea of not having a full door on a shower is a nonsense - the floor next to the shower and base of the toilet became flooded after even a brief shower.
